Ms. Courageous, which plays one last time on May 3, is a collage of scenes from the lives of Elizabeth Blackwell and Marie Curie. Blackwell was the first woman in the United States to become a doctor with a medical degree, and Curie won two Nobel prizes for her work in physics and chemistry. Written by Joanna Halpert Kraus, Ms. Courageous explores the difficulties and challenges these two remarkable women faced and overcame.
The Mischief Makers, by Lowell Swortzell, marks the closing of the series on May 10th, and shows us what happens when Anansi the Spider from Africa, Reynard the Fox from Europe, and the Native American Raven mysteriously find themselves on the same totem pole. These three tricksters must compete to see who is the cleverest and most cunning. This delightful story is woven from the rich and varied mythology and folklore from all over the world, and before the game is over, these three wily characters will have the audience in stitches!
