Think Outside of The Lunchbox

Florida Repertory Theatre's Lunchbox Theatre Series is playing through May 10 in the Brick Bar Theatre with three offerings for families.

The Mischief Makers opens on February 23 at 11am in the Brick Bar Theatre (2226 Bay Street) in the Fort Myers River District, and plays through March 29 before the three Lunchbox offerings begin a rotating rep for the rest of the spring.

Mischief Makers

A lesson in world mythology and folklore, The Mischief Makers shows audiences what happens when three of the world's most famous and mischievous characters find themselves mysteriously thrown together on the same totem pole. When these three tricksters unite, Africa's Anansi the Spider, Europe's Reynard the Fox and North America's Raven must compete to see who is the cleverest and most cunning in an epic battle of wits, story telling and mischief, of course. This delightful story is woven from some of the richest and most varied mythology and folklore from all over the world, and before the game is over, these three wily characters will have the audience in stitches!

These rascals come to life at the Brick Bar Theatre on February 23, March 8, 29, April 19, May 10 at 11am.

Following The Mischief Makers, Florida Rep and LCEC are proud to bring ZAP! back for another run of three performances in rep with Ms. Courageous and The Mischief Makers.

ZAP!, by Eric Coble and presented in partnership with LCEC, is a world premiere play commissioned specially by Florida Rep. This fun and inventive play educates children of all ages about the many wonders of electricity, and teaches us all how to Get Smart, Get Safe and Get Saving!

Ms. Courageous is a collage of scenes from the lives of Elizabeth Blackwell and Marie Curie. Blackwell was the first woman in the United States to become a doctor with a medical degree, and Curie won two Nobel prizes for her work in physics and chemistry. Written by Joanna Halpert Kraus, it explores the difficulties and challenges these two remarkable women faced and overcame.

ZAP! plays at 11am on March 15, April 5 & 26

Ms. Courageous plays at 11am on March 22, April 12 and May 3

The Mischief Makers plays February 23, March 8, 29, April 19 and closes the series on May 10.
