ZAP!, by Eric Coble and presented in partnership with LCEC, has one more performance this week before it comes back in March. ZAP! is a world premiere play commissioned specially by Florida Rep. This fun and inventive play educates children of all ages about the many wonders of electricity, and teaches us all how to Get Smart, Get Safe and Get Saving!
Ms. Courageous opens on January 26th, and is a collage of scenes from the lives of Elizabeth Blackwell and Marie Curie. Blackwell was the first woman in the United States to become a doctor with a medical degree, and Curie won two Nobel prizes for her work in physics and chemistry. Written by Joanna Halpert Kraus, Ms. Courageous explores the difficulties and challenges these two remarkable women faced and overcame.
The Mischief Makers by Lowell Swortzell, shows us what happens when Anansi the Spider from Africa, Reynard the Fox from Europe, and the Native American Raven mysteriously find themselves on the same totem pole. These three tricksters must compete to see who is the cleverest and most cunning. This delightful story is woven from the rich and varied mythology and folklore from all over the world, and before the game is over, these three wily characters will have the audience in stitches!
Tickets to Lunchbox Theatre are $12, and admission includes the performance, a boxed lunch provided by McAllister’s Deli, and an interactive workshop with the cast.
