The Alaska Railroad added two new double-deck dome cars to their fleet in May of 2005. Two more cars were purchased late 2007, and will be in service for the 2008 summer season. The additional cars will double the GoldStar capacity on the Denali Star train for the 2008 summer season. The high demand for the new GoldStar Service aboard the Denali Star train has led the Alaska Railroad to purchase yet two more of the 4 million dollar luxury dome cars in 2008. The ever popular GoldStar Service will be introduced on the Coastal Classic train, service from Anchorage to Seward, when the new cars arrive in Alaska. |
