The New Kid by Dennis Foon is designed for audiences in grades K through 5, but has something for kids of all ages. The New Kid is a unique, inventive and lightheartedly playful and is wildly funny. It is a play about a boy named Nick who just moved to America from a different country. It’s his first day of school, and all he wants to do is fit in with the other kids, but Nick doesn’t speak their language or know any of their customs. The audience sees through Nick’s eyes just how frustrating and tough it can be when you are the new kid.

Sponsored by the Alan & Jacquelin Cadkin Foundation & LCEC, The New Kid opens March 20th and plays at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center at 11am on April 10 and April 24.

The Lunchbox Theatre Series also features And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank, a drama that combines interview footage with live theatre to take audiences into the life of Anne Frank and two Holocaust survivors whose lives she changed forever. And Then They Came for Me is a groundbreaking retelling of Anne Frank’s famous story, and is designed for students in grades 5 through 12.

Sponsored by Florida Rep's Alliance for Holocaust Studies, And Then They Came for Me opens March 13th and plays at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center at 11am on April 3 and April 17.

Florida Repertory Theatre is located on Bay between Jackson and Hendry in the River District, and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located on First Street between Jackson & Lee.
